WHO IS IT FOR?

This intensive workshop is for the dog photographers who wants to take their skills to the next level. If you're looking to master the technical challenges of capturing fast-moving subjects, develop your artistic vision, and create truly exceptional images of dogs in action, this is the workshop for you. We'll delve into advanced techniques, explore creative composition, and provide personalized feedback to help you elevate your photography to a professional standard.

Date : 4-5 October 2025
Place : Reinach (AG), Switzerland
Price : € 790 (deposit € 390 today + final balance € 400 at the end of June)
Number of participants : 12
Photography skills : the workshop is for amateurs and professionals. It's required to know the basics of your camera settings. and how to change it
Cameras : DSLR or Mirrorless are welcome
Lenses required : 70-200mm or 200mm or 300mm or 135mm and similars are welcome
Editing skills : I will show you how to use Photoshop and I will edit a photo taken during the workshop with Photoshop with my workflow explaining step by step. I will record the session and you will get access to the recording to watch it again at home and learn perfectly every step

Shooting address : 5 minutes driving distance from the theory room

What's excluded : transportation during the workshop, travel insurance, Hotel/night accommodations, lunches and dinners and anything not specified as included

FIRST DAY - Saturday 4 October 2025

8:30 - 12:30 Theory about Dog Photography and Dogs in Action Ph.

14:30 - 16:30 First shooting in the wood with running dogs

16:30 - 17:00 Discussion about the shooting on the field and improvements

17:00 - 19:00 Second Shooting in the wood with running dogs

Equipment needed : camera backpack with camera and lens

SECOND DAY - Sunday 5 October 2025

9:00 - 12:30 Editing workflow with Photoshop explained step by step on a photo of the previous day

13:30 - 14:00 Discussion about your photos

14:30 - 17:30 Individual assistance during your selection, importing and editing process and individual help about any of your questions

Equipment needed : laptop (you can also follow without laptop)

Claudio Piccoli

Hi! I'm Claudio Piccoli, an award-winning dog photographer and founder of the dog photography masters school. My passion is capturing the energy and joy of dogs in action, and I love sharing my knowledge through workshops and online courses. In this workshop, I'll guide you step-by-step to unlock your inner 'potential' and create breathtaking images of our four-legged friends, all in a relaxed and creative environment. Join me to learn how to see the world through your dog's eyes and transform your passion/job into unforgettable images!

My name is Sascha, I’m 54 years old, and I live in Wynental, Switzerland. I’m passionate about dogs, nature, traveling, and photography, especially capturing moments in stunning landscapes or with soulful canine companions. My soul dog Ayra inspired my love for photographing dogs, and through workshops with Claudio Piccoli, I’ve honed my skills while connecting with fellow enthusiasts. I’m proud to have exhibited my work in Lucerne and Photo Münsingen, and now I look forward to hosting an exciting dog photography workshop in Wynental. Let’s create and share unforgettable memories together!

Which gear do you I need?

DSLR or mirrorless camera with interchangeable lens - for portrait shootings: wide lenses like 35mm and/or 24mm and/or 14mm (also zoom lenses like 14-24mm are welcome), 50mm and/or 85mm and/or 105 are perfect (24-70mm, 70-200mm, 70-300mm are good as well if you have it) - for action shooting: (focal length from 200 to 300mm or equivalent are perfect for action. This means that these lenses are ok: 70-200mm, 70-300mm, 200mm, 300mm).
In which language is the workshop ?

I will speak English.
Which clothes do I need to participate the workshop ?

You can wear whatever you prefer to feel comfortable with yourself. During the trekking and shooting instead, I suggest wearing comfortable sport clothes, trekking shoes, a towel to dry the equipments or yourself when we are at the streams and waterfalls, and some changes in case you get wet (socks, pants, etc.). I suggest also to bring a portable water bottle to fill every day before leaving the hotel.
What happens in the case of rain ?

We will be shooting in nature and it's normal that it can rain sometimes. Dogs usually love the rain! I strongly suggest to bring waterproof protection for your camera and lenses (you can find them in amazon for cheap prices around 10-20 euro) and bring a raincoat for protecting yourself. Or else.... Plastic black bags and black tape work too!
Which photography level is required to participate ?

It is necessary that you know the basics of using your camera, including shooting in manual or with aperture priority. Amateur and professional are welcome because during the workshop I will guide you individually.
Can I participate if I don't have a dog?

Yes, you can participate and your shooting models will be the dogs of your pairs.
Can my partner follow me in this adventure?

Yes, we will ask him/her to pay 2.000 euro for Hotel, meals and restaurants, keeping in mind that it won't be possible to follow us everywhere in the shootings.
